A few weeks ago, The Pioneer Woman came to Nashville for a cookbook signing. Clara and I were there with bells on and were (thankfully!) about 10th in a line of about 400. I showed up with 3 books to sign, one for me, one for my dear friend Shannon and one for the winning recipe of my upcoming Goody Exchange (my neighbor Erin’s Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Bread).
Anyway, her cookbook is awesome, even if you just want to look at pretty pictures! Some people read novels before going to sleep at night…I read cookbooks. I’ve been through PW’s twice now and love it.
Here’s a blurry picture of Clara giving PW some Pepperoni Rolls that I made (remind me to show you that recipe soon!). I was so thrilled later that night to get an email from Betsy, Ree’s sister and sidekick at the signing, saying they were enjoying the rolls!
Here’s a picture of me with Ree herself. Further proof that I really need to lose 30 more pounds and get these braces off my teeth!
All of that to say, I’m going to be posting a recipe inspired by PW later this weekend.

Fondue Fun
*Sigh* When will I learn?
Allen and I went to The Melting Pot last night and it was fabulous as usual. Every.single.time I leave that place, I come home thinking I am some sort of cheese fondue expert. Every.single.time I buy a bunch of sourdough and rye, and chop veggies and apples, and shred cheese until my knuckles are bleeding. And every time something goes wrong with my fondue! Today was no different! I had such high hopes too. See how I took pictures, just knowing for sure I was about to post a perfect fondue?
Well, today it tasted delicious, and thanks to my disaster the last time, I put flour in so it wouldn’t be a greasy mess. Only problem today, it was kind of gritty. My internet searches tell me the beer was too hot when I added the cheese.
Oh well, live and learn. Maybe next time I’ll have a perfect cheese fondue to post.
In the meantime here’s a little something to feast your eyes on…
YU-UM!
So easy and so delicious! I’m telling you, my three year old can make this (and she can sure as heck put it down). I would feed it to company without hesitation!
I usually prefer Sephra brand melting chocolate, but I’m fresh out of it right now and happened to have the brand from Hobby Lobby in my pantry.
Melted the chocolate in the microwave, and added a Tablespoon of peanut butter to one, a few melted caramels to another, and some melted marshmallows and crushed graham crackers (SMORES!) to the third.
Throw in some brownies, a few strawberries, and my fave, Rice Krispie Treats, and we had ourselves quite a little buffet this evening.
On an entirely different note, do yourself a favor and add a teaspoon of vanilla at the end of your Rice Krispie Treat recipe. You will not regret it!
Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to go unbutton my pants and lay down…

What is in a Name?
Want to know the embarrassing truth? I’ve been writing this blog for months. A post here, a post there. They are all saved on my computer. I’ve been writing for months and haven’t posted a single time because I can’t decide on a name!
For the time being, I have bought both domain names that are in the running. Maybe one day, one of them will stick.

LOVE this one. Love the Biblical reference. Love the fact that it reflects the state of my poor cooktop so often. See?
adventuresinhomemaking.com
Love this one too! Does anyone remember Adventures in Babysitting? Great movie! Allen likes this name the best, and he’s usually right about these things, but I just can’t totally give myself into it.
What do you think (and Mama, I’m really talking to you here, I know you are the only one reading!)?
